Cloud Delivered Firewall Pt. 1

This internal overview video would be shared with a small support group that referred to themselves as “the nerds” and was fond of retro gaming. So, I designed a quick explainer video with a connected familiar storyline featuring a video game called Zelda: A Link To The Past.

The video was needed within three days, and it was a fairly big project because there was a 2nd video involved. The video was short-lived unfortunately, after it was posted for internal access, the product was temporarily put on hold before production continued.

Designing the video in theme to the SNES Zelda game required a sprite sheet with the game graphics and piecing them together via Photoshop. Once the assets were completed, they were assembled in After Effects to generate the background.

Link’s animation was a combination of layered sprites. Each animation sequence, such as walking direction, jumping, swimming, and fighting, all needed to be keyframed with expressions to keep the animation fluid. I also used AE Expressions to control when I needed the sequences to be queued without copying and pasting keyframes frequently.
